The City of Atlanta has initiated an effort to investigate the feasibility of redeveloping the historic BeltLine corridor. This old rail corridor encircles Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods, approximately 2 to 3 miles from downtown Atlanta. When complete, the BeltLine would provide 22 miles of transit and paths connecting a variety of parks and over 40 of Atlanta's neighborhoods and, at the same time, create significant economic development opportunity all within the urban core.
